Music is and always has been my biggest passion. I got into audio engineering when I was in highschool because I had a lot of friends that were really musically gifted and wanted to create their own music. I saw an opportunity to find a niche in the music industry and be an outlet for the people I knew that wanted to record their music. I learned a lot about recording techniques and how to edit vocals while my friends got to come over and record music with me. I've barely scraped the surface though, which is why I want to keep studying audio engineering after college.
I like all genres of music, but my favorite has always been rap/hip hop. I got into rap music through Lil Wayne, of all people. Since then I've broadened my horizons to many different types of music. My favorite artist is currently Isaiah Rashad, who falls under the rap genre, but his songs are much more slow and melodic. My favorite place to listen to music is definitely in the car, I'm not sure why, but music just sounds better while you're in the car.
I hope that music will always play a big role in my life. I've met a few people who get to create music for a living and that seems like a dream to me. Personally, I'd like to learn the ins and outs of audio engineering. I'd love to be the person that big name artists go to to record their music and have their songs edited. In the future I'd like to start my own record label, but there are quite a few steps between here and there.
