My Favorite Movies

Interstellar

Interstellar is easily my favorite movie of all time. It follows a pilot (Matthew McConaughey) who leaves his family behind on a dying Earth to travel through space in search of a new habitable planet that Earth's population can move to. It has plenty of twists and turns and ups and downs and is an absolutely exhilarating experience. The majority of the science used in the plot has also been verified as mostly accurate. The only inaccuracies occur when the plot leads to the impossible, such as entering a black hole.

Tenet

Tenet is the second movie on my top three list that is directed by Christopher Nolan. Tenet follows a protagonist that lives in a time where it's possible to make an object move backwards in time. The protagonist leads a war against the future, a future that wants to reverse the entire world to move backwards in time, which would destroy the past. I have watched this movie three times now and each time was just as confusing as the last, but I enjoyed each watch. I'd also like to point out that the soundtrack to this movie is incredible.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is an intricate love story following a couple played by Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet. In this film, the couple break up, and both decide to erase the other from their own memories, which is something you can do in the world of this film. Halfway through the process, Jim Carrey's character wakes up in a dream and decides he no longer wants to erase the memory of his girlfriend. The film follows Jim Carrey as he explores his own mind attempting to hold on to a memory that is being erased. The end is a bit confusing and will have you asking yourself what just happened.
